Proving It
While Arthur was still dating his ex-wife, she didn't believe in magic. In order to prove himself, Arthur made it so that around the Christmas season when the congestion at the malls and theatres is legendary, every time they arrived a parking space would open up for them directly in front of the main doors, time after time. Eventually, this proof overcame skepticism.
The Bet
Adam was going to dinner with his family on a Friday night, when the waiting lines were notoriously long at the popular restaurants. The wait at the place they chose was over a half-hour, and the rest of the family wanted to leave and try another place. Really wanting to eat at that particular restaurant, he betted his mother $5 that they'd be called in after 10 minutes or less, highly unlikely for a party of five, and cast a spell to make it happen. She took the bet and only five minutes later, their buzzed hummed and he collected his money as they walked in to claim their table. He later used the $5 to pay the tip, not wanting to take unfair advantage of his mother.
Bryan's Knee
Bryan's knee had been a problem for him, causing him so much pain that he was forced to rotate different painkillers as the effectiveness of each wore off over time. About a year after joining the group, Arthur created a new technique for healing long-term injuries and applied it to Bryan's bad knee. Within a few days, he had no need of the painkillers anymore, and over time is has healed to an almost complete recovery.
Possession
A good friend of Arthur's came to him, asking him to intervene on the behalf of a mutual friend of theirs. The mutual friend had opened herself up to help dispel a hostile spirit in another and now couldn't close herself off to the spirits. She was beset constantly with minor possession as spirits came and went, making her unstable and unwell. Since she hadn't asked for this help directly, Arthur didn't have direct leave to help but felt that the situation was grave enough that he needed to act despite that. He closed her mind and cast a spell to heal the wound, and the possessions stopped.
When Arthur later told her what he had done she was grateful and told him that she had been told by the spirits who others had asked to protect her, that they were no longer needed and left. When she went to another friend of her's into magic and had her take a look, the freind said that another had already solved the problem. After hearing what Arthur had done, she understood what had happened, and thanked him for his help, flattered that he thought enough of her to give his help unasked.
The Hidden Switch
Adam usually creates his spells with an on/off switch, and his spells always start in the off position, a precaution against unstable experiments. He was partnered with Cat to teach her a new technique, and after she showed her how to do it using his own methods, she cast the spell successfully, but something was wrong that they couldn't figure out. Arthur observed the spell, and realized that Adam *had* taught Cat his own way of doing things.. down to the on/off switch. Arthur threw the switch within the spell and it sprang to life. Just another little piece of strange proof.
Yes Master, No Master
Jeff was doing experiments with a new type if artificial spell intelligence, trying to create something that was more powerful yet also creative, able to invent new ideas on it's own. However, his experiments were too good, and he created a communal hive-mind intelligence. While at first it obeyed him, eventually it began to take the initiative on it's own, recreating Jeff's shields to make them better without having been given permission first, doing other things "for him". The hive-mind had to be dispelled for safety reasons, but it just goes to show that you never know exactly what you're going to get.
The Thornroot Girl
A close friend of a member of the Omnimancer's within his fraternity came to him with a problem. She had allowed another fraternity member to sense her, but now there were what she felt to be thorned roots stuck within her and she asked this member for help. The member's friend also told us that many others had those thornroots in them, all from the same person. One man has so many that he was feeling the thoughts of the other and was compelled by them.
We sensed out and found the thornroot girl, and discovered that she simply didn't understand how to draw her senses back once she'd touched someone, and left herself partially in everyone she had touched, over a score of people in total. Since her intrusion was unwanted and hurtful, we took action against her and gently removed all her tendrils from those she had touched. This can show the danger of using abilities one does not understand.
